Let’s get Chill(ato)

SDC10473One of my absolute favorite colors are pastell-y yellow. I’m big on pastel colors in general but just something with that soft yellow that pleases my eyes just a little extra. So for years I’ve been searched for a pastel yellow nail polish but has always come up empty handed, until now. But why? You would think that it would be a common color, especially in spring/summer lines. But apparently. So you can believe my happiness when I finally found one from Essie and I immediately did order it.

Still I was a bit worry that it would be some weird kind of yellowy green color since the website it said it was a soft pistachio color. Pistachio is green, so yeah… But to my relief ‘Chillato’ actually was this very pretty soft yellow color I wanted it to be. So what did I do after that happy revelation? Started to paint my toenails, and it was here i stumbled upon trouble.

Now I’ve never own a Essie nail polish before, but I was shocked to see how thin the polish actually was. It was like water, it ran down everywhere and the very small brush made it extremely hard to get a smooth, nice looking surface. After my third layer it actually looked quite nice, well if you don’t look to close at it…
Is the Essie formula usually this thin or did I just get a bad/old product? Because the color is absolutely stunning and makes my not so very tan feet actually look tanned, but I feel it will be hard for me to use it on my finger nails and make it look good. I’ve never had this problem before, but then again I’ve only bought IsaDoras nail polishes since their wider brushes makes it so easy to get a nice layer. So am I just to spoiled and need to train up my skill with a thinner brush? I just really want to use this color, but at the same time it has to look good to. So any good tips on how to master Essies thin brush?

Review: Fairest by Marissa Meyer

SDC10493Something I really hate is when a genuine evil person gets a soppy backstory that somehow makes up for all the horrible things they done. Sure, most mean people has been through some kind of trauma that makes them act bad towards others. Like the bullied often becomes a bully themselves. But some people are just pure evil and it’s as simple as that. But where on the spectrum do we find Queen Levana?

Terror of an weird insect creature

Last week I was just sitting in my bed when all the sudden I felt this tiny pressure on my hand, I look over on it and saw this black creature there. I smashed my hand right over it since I thought it was just a fly. But when it didn’t move I actually shriek, and I never screams but at that moment the fear was real. I thought it was a spider but it had wings but I really had to knock it of my hand before i flew away. Then it terrorized my mother, she thought to at the start that it was a spider but then it flew and hell no, not a spider.
I kind of think it actually was an ant that somehow accidentally came indoor, since some ants has wings especially at the end of summer. But my father also encounted this strange insect and he thought it was a fly/spider mix. So, perhaps we should have capture it since it can have been some strange hybrid creature. Maybe it was like the spider that bite Peter Parker, I could have become Spider-girl. Swung from ceilings and shooting white substance from my hand… On second thought I think it’s good it was released out in the wild.

Has anyone else encounted something like this strange thing? Would you like to turn into Sprider-man/girl/woman/cat et.c. ?

Review: The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

SDC10516Ever since I read Since You’ve Been last summer I just wanted more from Morgan Matson. Amy and Roger’s epic detour didn’t fit my taste but it didn’t lower my expectations of The Unexpected Everything. It’s also the only book I got for my birthday that I’ve actually get around to read since it was on the top on my to be read pile. But did it live up to my expectations?
